Morihiro Saito
Morihiro Saito is an outstanding martial arts master who studied aikido for 56 years, from the age of eighteen, when he first met Morihei Ueshiba, until his death in 2002.
It is believed that Morihiro Saito was uchi-deshi Ueshiba for the longest time. Even the name, Morihiro, was given to him by Ueshiba, according to an ancient Japanese tradition.
In the late 50's, the master became one of the most influential Sikhans of Aikikai and regularly taught at the Iwama Dojo, without Ueshiba.

In addition, since 1961, Saito has started training once a week in the Hombu dojo of Aikido Aikikai (Tokyo). He was the only one allowed to train with weapons, so his classes on Sunday were extremely popular.
Saito is the author of many books and videos about aikido.
