Gozo Shioda
Gozo Shioda is an aikido master, the owner of the 10th dan of Aikido Yoshinkan.
Yoshinkan Gozo Shioda, the founder of the school, was born in Tokyo into a family of strong and influential doctors. Dr. Sioda encouraged students to study at a judo school set up outside his home. Therefore, it is not surprising that Gozo Siod was early fascinated by martial arts, an interest in which he retained for life.
In 1961, Morihei Ueshiba gave him the 9th dan. Sioda's outstanding contribution to the development of Japanese martial arts, and in particular Aikido, was recognized by the International Federation of Martial Arts, which awarded him the honorary tenth dan and the title of Meijin - Grand Master. He was later recognized as a leader in all martial arts and awarded the title of "Mu-Dan" (outside of Denmark) and also recognized as the Cultural Value of Japan.
