Sensei Steven Seagal is a master of Aikido (7th Dan Aikido). Stephen Seagal's first acquaintance with aikido took place at the age of 15, at the Orange County Aikido School, where he began his aikido journey under the guidance of Master Harry Kiyoshi Ishisaka.

At the age of 17, Seagal moved with his father to Japan. Here, continuing to practice aikido, in 1974 Stephen Seagal received his first dan from Koichi Tohei (founder of the Ki Aikido style). Kiyakido is aimed mainly at inner work. Stephen Seagal's view of aikido was that when it is a martial art, it must be effective in combat. And he leaves the Ki Aikido organization.

Seagal's further development took place under the leadership of Seiseki Abe, a direct disciple of Morihei Ueshiba. Under the guidance of masters such as Kisaburo Osawa, Hiroshi Isoyama and the second dosha Kisemaru Ueshiba, Stephen Seagal travels to the title of Sihan and receives the 7th Dan Aikido.

Steven Seagal opens his own Aikido dojo "Tensin" in Osaka, which earns a lot of enemies. Not only did Gaijin come to Japan for permanent residence, but he also dared to teach the Japanese martial arts.
